Government of India has launched a new central sector scheme, ‘PM Kisan Samman Nidhi’ PM Kisan to increase the income of small and marginal farmers SMFs The program was launcheds in February 2020
Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana
It is implemented by the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmer Welfare (DAC & FW) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare through the Ministry of Agriculture of all State and Union Territory Governments.
Under the scheme, direct payment of Rs. 6000/- per annum to be transferred in three equal installments of Rs. 2000 Every four months to the bank accounts of the eligible landowner families.
Government is taking many measures to reach out to all eligible beneficiaries under “PM KISAN” Public interfaces have been made available for self registration, payment status check, name correction as per Aadhar as it is a mandatory requirement of the scheme. To further extend the reach, a mobile application ‘PM KISAN’ designed and developed by the National Informatics Center (NIC), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India is launched.
