It’s hard to know how much and what kind of activity yous need to stays healthy that’s why Google Fit, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the American Heart Association (AHA), has introduced two new activity goals that can help you improve your health: minutes in motion and cardio points
● Movement minutes
when it comes to your health it’s important to move more or sit less get movement minutes for all your activity and get motivated to make small, healthier changes throughout the day, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or catching up with a friend for a walk instead of coffee.
● Cardio points
Activities that get your heart pumping have huge health benefits for your heart and mind. You get one cardio point for every minute of moderate activity, like picking up the pace while walking the dog, and double the points for more intense activities like running. Just 30 minutes of brisk walking five days a week is enough to achieve the amount of physical activity recommended by the AHA and WHO, which has been shown to reduce the risks of heart disease, improves sleep or increase overall mental well-being.
Google Fit will also help you
Get instant insights when you exercise and view real-time stats for your runs, walks and bike rides. Fit will use your Android phone’s sensors or the heart rate sensors of your Wear OS by Google smartwatch to record your speed, pace, route and more.

Track your daily progress in cardio points and movement minutes. Are you meeting your goals every day? Based on your activity and goal progress, Google Fit will help you adjust them so you can always strive for a healthy heart and mind.
COUNT ALL YOUR MOVEMENTS
If you walk, run or cycle throughout the day, Google will automatically detect your Android phone or Wear OS smartwatch and add your activities to your Google Fit log to ensure you get credit for every move. Do you enjoy a different type of exercise? Choose from a list of activities like pilates, rowing, or spinning, and Google Fit will track all your cardio points and exercise minutes you get.
